Youth Rowing Program
This program is new for 2008! Please go to Contact Us to hear about this exciting, inclusive program.
Learn To Row Class
This 6 course class teaches the fundamentals of rowing, boat handling skills, rowing terminology and safety to the beginning Masters rower. After completing the course, we invite you to become a member of the club and continue rowing in our novice program, where you may row recreationally or competitively.
Novice Program
This program is for rowers who have completed a Learn To Row course or who have minimal rowing experience. The goal is to improve rowing skills, teach safety, and help rowers become independent. Novice rowers can only take out ARC equipment on their own after the novice coach has given permission.
Masters Rowing
Master's rowers are welcome and encouraged to participate in either the recreational or the competitive programs:
Recreational
This program is for rowers who want to row recreationally as well as for those who want to compete but cannot commit to the required practice schedule of the competitive program. Rowers at all experience levels are welcome.
Competitive Master's Program
Experienced rowers are welcome to join our competitive masters program. The program began in 2003, entering a handful of rowers in two regattas. 2007 was our most successful season yet, with over 20 men and women entering eight regattas over the year and winning several medals, including a bronze for our mixed quad at Masters Nationals in August. Some of the rowers in this program began as novices in our learn to row class. Individuals wanting to be part of this program must be willing to put in the required practice time.
Collegiate Program
The Warren Wilson College women's crew rows out of our boathouse, uses our facilities, and is coached by two of our members. Collegiate rowers from other schools who wish to row with the club during the summer months may do so after paying a small fee to the club.
